PhD (Communication and Media Studies, Monash) MA (Sociology, CUHK) MA (Communication and Media Studies, Monash) 

My name is Aizi (She/Her/Hers), and I work at the University of Melbourne and serve as a Head Tutor at Monash University. I also hold the position of Director of Partnerships and Development (Australia) for the NGO Asian Women Development Plan International (AWDPI).

I am a dedicated media and communication researcher focused on the intersection of digital activism, gender politics, and platform governance. My academic journey is shaped by an interdisciplinary background in sociology and communications , coupled with extensive experience navigating the digital landscapes of both China and Australia.

I have comprehensive experience as a teaching associate and tutor in Australian higher education, achieving a 98/100 student satisfaction rate. Beyond the classroom, I am committed to social impact, frequently organizing community-based advocacy events and cross-sector panels to support Asian women’s leadership and combat domestic violence.

Research Interests: Feminist Media Studies; Digital Activism and Resistance; Platform Affordances; Self-Censorship and Governance; Postfeminism and Commodity Feminism.
